Responsibilities

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and translate business

requirements into metrics, dashboards, and eventually data engineering tasks and datamodels.

2Design, construct, install, test, and maintain scalable data management systems that integrate tens or hundreds of data sources.

Build robust and efficient ETL pipelines and set up data ingestion processes from a variety of data sources.

Implement data models in the data warehouse and optimize for performance.

Develop and maintain databases, data warehousing systems, data lakes, and

real-time/batch data processing systems.

Develop and deploy metrics, interactive dashboards and reports for business

stakeholders.

Establish alerting and monitoring on the health of data systems and accuracy of data.

Debug and troubleshoot data-related issues and strive to improve data reliability and

quality.

Assist in designing and implementing machine learning models and data-driven

protocols.

Regularly review and adapt as necessary concepts, practices, and procedures to keep

the data infrastructure ahead of the growth curve: code reviews, documentation, git

repository structure, ETL libraries, cloud architecture.

Lead a small team of Data Engineers working as part of the broader Data org.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information

Systems, or another quantitative field. Advanced degrees are a plus.

2. 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, 8+ years of overall experience (software

engineering experience a plus).

Excellent communication skills to work effectively with business partners and other

technical staff.

Hands-on experience in defining and building metrics, building dashboards and data

pipelines, architectures, and data sets.

Proven experience with SQL, Python, and Airflow.

Extensive experience with AWS services related to data engineering (like S3, EC2,

EMR, etc).

Experience with Linux, basic system administrations and networking.

Proficiency in Azure is a plus. Proficiency in Presto is a plus.

Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and principles is a bonus.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
