Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing telecommunications systems that meet the needs of clients. Your role includes assessing their requirements, proposing solutions, and creating detailed plans for implementation. Specifically, your tasks may involve:

Responsible preparing / checking and approval of the Engineering Design Activities 3D modeling of Equipment, Cable trays, Junction Boxes, etc. and extraction to 2D.

Prepare & Check of all 2D design deliverables like Hook-up drawings, detail Drawings, wiring & ESL creations, Block drawings, JB drawings, FO core allocation, Cable Schedule, Drum Schedule, Cable routing, Equipment Location drawings, Building Layouts, control room drawings.

Approval & Checking of MTO and Cable schedules.

Review of vendor drawings including Telecommunication & Control system wiring and panel drawings all other interfaces for design deliverables.

Approval and checking of mechanical packages Telecom & Control design documents.

Inter discipline & Vendor co-ordination.

Participation with contribution during modeling reviews workshop Review and where required approval of work by others

Maintain the required technical quality or work.

Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures, standards and regulations.

Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline.

Maintain good communication with the Client and visit Assets when necessary.

Ability to prepare the cable tray/trench sizing as per client requirements.

Additionally, a Lead Telecom Designer would be responsible for Vendor Document Review. This involves assessing technical documents provided by vendors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and verifying that the proposed equipment meets quality and safety standards. Effective communication with vendors and project teams is essential during this process.

Ability to review the coverage study report of CCTV and PAGA for develop the design deliverables such as location layout, cable routing and 3D model.

Qualifications

Diploma in Electrical & Electronics or Instrument Technology Engineering

Minimum 15 years of experience in design and preparation of Instrumentation & Telecommunication deliverables for Chemical/ Oil and Gas Industrial Projects, including minimum (3) years (preferred) in GCC region

Experience in Telecommunication & Instrumentation Engineering Design Environment

Ability to check engineering design deliverables in a multi-discipline task force-based engineering design environment.
